Moringa oleifera. The first piece I ever read about Moringa was narrated by a visitor in the Western hills, who crossed a local singing praises of God's tree. My vivid mind drew up a loin-clothed man dancing to the tunes of the jungle singing to the tree.
The white barked tree has an immense ability to whitstand pests, climatic fluxes, and keep giving. It's leaves, as are now known, are loaded with nutrition. Indigenous folk have eaten it as 'saag' since time immimorial. All that's scientifically known about this leaf is still less. Folklore makes claims as a preventative for over 300 diseases, including alzheimers, arthiritis, diabetes, blood sugars, to name a few.
In practice, we have seen it increase bone strength and improve milk production, making it the perfect gift for expecting mothers.
Get your spoonful of moringa everyday. Just remember heating/cooking the powder reduces its nutirional bang. Instead, keep it on the table as you would salt, and sprinkle a spoonful on your meal. It goes on everything... breakfast upmas, poha, mixed into coconut chutneys, yoghurt.
